In the sea of shows which you probably never heard it again, there's at least one that i'm stays positive to claims it like one of my favourite animated series I ever seen: Redakai: Conquer the Kairu.
YouTube become a staple for anything related the history of animation, with also full materials of rare stuffs you never thought to re-seen the day. The plot show is enough simple: Kai is a 15-years boy student of ancient martial arts who had to embark, along with his friends Maya, Boomer and Mookee on a quest to find a primordial energy force call, the Redakai. The trio is not alone if many opponents and adversaries do anything in order to finding this energy for evil by please their master, Lokar. Despite its Toyetic theme, the show never fulled me on a riot to buy their cards or toys and instead, was fully entertaining, have lots of engaged characters and also a great sense of tension and menace that perceived this almost-depressing two-seasons of the series. It's a French-Canadian production from the same studio that brought the likes of Totally Spies! or Martin Mystery.
It would be only great if they can renewing a third season of Redakai, just because the finale sequence left us with more questions than answers. The battles and tournaments are also helped by serviceable animation, that even Anime studios have struggled hard to earned it. But it wasn't enough succesful in merchandising sales. It was that the flaw of why the animated series didn't reasonate finely to the majority of people. Redakai was stimagtized like other underdogs shows made in the era of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic rage. But it was easily a refreshing change of pace in a time where the animated productions system started to lose its charm for be more cynical and sadistic than they ever were.
Even the show own its official YouTube page. Could you renewing it for another season instead of an additional Totally Spies! season we didn't ever ask? Pleaaaaase?
