Things went not that "wonderful" in the kingdom of family entertainment. Besides to make Hailey's On It! canceled last may, it also was yanked from the Disney+ platform earlier in the month, along with two recently canceled Disney Channel shows: Pretty Freekin Scary and Saturdays. To say nothing of that lack of respect to the people who working there that the same show was gone from DisneyNOW since the earlier of the month too.
Despite generating gross box-office results with the Inside Out sequel last summer, even their movies weren't that performed well, with reviewes that were a mixed bag at best. Even the movie that made for "supposedly" celebrate "100 Years of Magic", Wish, was left with a bittersweet sentiment that the Disney's magic don't longer operate well anymore.
Aside of Hailey, other newer Disney Channel shows gets cut to the axe, animated or otherwise. With too much owning-contents at its disposal, (That contains also the whole 20th Century Fox library they have purchased back in 2017) chances that shows going to surviving are getting smaller. Past modern shows like Hamster and Gretel, Marvel Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, the very unappealing Kiff or also The Ghost and Molly McGee (A cartoon show title that still getting to confuse with the Fibber McGee & Molly radio show's name) been all long gone before we known it. The great era when each of them were seen at both popular and that they do breaking barriers like in the days of Gravity Falls, Amphibia and especially, The Owl House are passe. This is parts why Disney Channel can't keep their newer shows as longer--They have too much stuffs to produce!
Even in the very dismal mid-00s days, the Disney Channel shows were likely treated with better respect than there is in our current age. Modern-day Disney pull too much attention for its Disney+ platform while the reality is, like any other company like Warner Bros.-Discovery, they have to face with layoffs, cost-cutting measures and that the ecosystem in the entertainment world is late on this era of lasting changes. In the times of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, the series was able to own a very respectable fandom on the internet, even when the show was canceled already and that several fans were not impressed by it. In the Hailey's On It!'s case, not much. It ended with one very dismal season and fewer interests to get a fandom at its own. Either, it's the main character that are not that appealing or its wacky concept are unclear. But Hailey and others deserved better from the largest corporation that took profits to children, so much that they don't longer bother to ran lots of provocative hidden messages in their own works.
To say nothing there is going to have a Moana sequel nobody ever ask for. (The one with the big fat guy who comes like ating too many junk-food the day!) And a Zootopia sequel? And two Frozen sequels? Snow White with a live actress? Give me a break! The Disney big managements need to reorganize their staff and business and modernize it on a way that would perhaps, make Walt and company more proud than what they currently release.
The old magic trick of the past need a much clear and modern vision on the company, that meant, stop to took the stories of others as thieves and learn to struggle with the real issues of our time, like more education and help about mental issues or the LGTBQ+ kids community in schools. If for them, children are the future, they've better to investing to them instead to given a false sentiment of security on their narratives.
