But the reason why is more deeper and nuanced than what the main actress has described on Instagram while showing her sob face when she learning that the project never will came.

For a longtime in current history, nostalgia on fictional media is used at a gimmick to appeal an adulescent crowd who seems likely to have never existed by revived past properties that we were sure that we'll leave well them enough alone forever. The '10s era abruptly beginning it, and over 15 years later, nostalgia don't longer paid the announcers, neither the appeal of the youth audience who suppose to be THE audience they need to cattering for first. 

Buffy is a late-90s/early-'00 production, which meant that this is finally a product of its time, to may be sometimes, how cheesy and dated some of the moments would be rolling to modern viewers. The Teens Drama tropes are also a thing that have stop to be truly original or clever since the 2008s banking crisis and that actual teens don't looked like that they are actually related to the characters, because, an actress in her 30s who playing a protagonist who is aged of 15 years fewer than her actual age looked a little convoluted, for not saying retarded.

To say nothing that I blame the fanfiction culture to have wrenched the work of all people involving in the industry if many fanfiction writers in the internet hate a lot the loot of executives, even if they never met one in person.

Remember 2016s The Powerpuff Girls? That was blah by don't even bother to call back the original voice-actress for voicing Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup. Or the 2017s Ducktales which the Donald's nephews are voiced by actors who use THEIR normal voice instead to make them like actual kids? Tiny Toons Looniversity is another reboot that tarnished old fans with the bonds between Babs and Buster Bunny that make the core of its success are now-on seen as siblings over to love-interests without to actually be one in the original program. This is clear that someone at Hulu known that the nostalgia fad on mainstream media is burried because of these revisionnist hacks.
