In the same moment I wrote so, you seen the costs of homes and foods increased around every month, many business and Start-Ups are going to shutdown, local bookstores are forced to close their doors due to shortage lacking, inflation and other factors, evictions of all kinds for make place to more Air BnB without any consent or that overtourism have augmented the prices of rents in many concerned cities, like Barcelone, Mexico or Venise.

And then, you get music fests anywhere in the big cities like the small ones, and granted, what could I says more?

Because back in the 00s, all the fine culture world is been flooded by hacks who seems to have improvised by themselves to do anything artistic, for please the global majors and own generally tons of profits, in detriment to the clique of people who wanna preserve what left of fine culture for the future generations.

The era of Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan and others are all the more blatant and embarassed to look. Even LimpBizkit, the former Linkin Park, (Not the WTF-ish 2024s one!) Coldplay or Eminem who came from the same era weren't that at evil or malicious than these things. The Quebec City Festival have presented them like "protégés" of fine music yesterday but they are still overly representative of the ultra-disconnected wealthiest clique of our cultural world that portray them not at real artists, but hacks. Avril Lavigne even have her own Encyclopedia Dramatica page to how gruesome her peak years were. (I wouldn't tell in details about every false misteps she's doing by the 00s, but just proving you that this decade was weird for anyone who wanted to be an artist in the good way)

That speaks volumes of our cultured zeal in the Canada country. We have lose two iconic creators from another era: Author and Poet from Trois-Pistoles Victor-Lévy Beaulieu while in my trip there and Serge Fiori, in the most unfortunate moment, a June 24th, and one who wanted hardly the Québec to be sovereign. Both the twos are looked like aliens for the younger twenty-something who waste their lifetime to Anime, Tiktok and Netflix.

Anyone who think that the Simple Plan guys or Avril Lavigne have matured since their career were launched are either, crazy or oblivious. These are like guys who make the life of riley under the state's thumb by not paid any tax at all. Like Charlotte Cardin when she continue to plays the opportunists knocks while wars in Israël, the Donald Trump tarifs or the deteriorated and pitiful state of our public schools and hospitals are there these big stars have to figured it first.

It's like parroting myself that if they wanna to be usual for society by do a difference, they're better to quit the spotlights and show-business futility to make a visit in a school or an hospital all-day long, with a real lunch-box in hand (No restaurants! No Starbucks coffees!) just for teach them how it looks to work in the ground. The same could be says for our politicians too. No cameras. No Deepfakes. No selfies. No reels. Just the real stuff. They love so much to lecturing the population about composting, recycling, separate paper, cardboard et all but them, travel in private planes or Jet Set that consum lots of pollution and more carbon prints than your usual Pick-up. Just enough to tell why the Jeff Bezos wedding was mostly a slideshow for this same opportunist wealthiest clique.

I was destined to be an artist at that time, by 2005, mostly in both ways, that I known all these artists hacks became mainstream and overbearing and that I expected an alternative of it. Much closer to the culture of real people. But anyway, what means BE a real people?

While the government cuts on culture and then, on education and to the unemployment, we have also the hobos problems, the rents we don't stop to made but that costs a fortune to just earn a property on itself, even the most basics of lifetime like feed and corporal hygiene are overtaxed, but then, they seek money for seen in concert big stars that were the cause of why our artistic colony is composed on the majority of hacks?

This is exactly our issues with artists. Too preachy but they are barely the ones who will do the same from their experience. If they were true with us, they would just paid their tax, respecting our language and culture and then, fuck themselves if they could. It can't be that hard!

And yeah, just shutting down completely a fewer pointless festival will hurt anybody. Like the way the 2020s pandemic make it all closed down with our concerns to the climatic crisis and that some brilliant artists like Coldplay's Chris Rock and his engagement to plant more trees on each of the band's show or Billie Eillish who make concerns that the industry of music have to evolved for reducing their impact to the planet. This is what it based me more to enjoy these people, for their strict actions. Not so for their music style.
