The Golden Age of self-proclaimed artists are over

Do you know that the Internet have made the work of artist easier than it ever was before?

Nowadays, these are over. Like Poetry nights or singing on a Tavern.

By the 2000s, in the early wake of DeviantArt, this been like a dream come true for many people of my generation to started pursuit an artistic career without always be obliged to run for hours in boring arts class (I have experienced that. It was fun stuff, though!) or be bothered to have experts judging severly our stuffs in our face. That was a free-ride for get some constructive criticism online and sharing our experiences with other fans, but all that comes to an end. DeviantArt and others have stop to be friendly community websites, with people that are more busy to turn profits than actually enjoying art.

I can be a self-proclaimed artist myself, who have wheeling it for almost two decades, but this is clear that I am going to retired of it. With the toxic climate and uncivility of now, I have trying anything in the past two years to get my glory days back, but either of them worked out well. The another Christine got ABS story, Sarah and the Foxes Tribe or returning Vanessa "Giraffe!!" another time are just pipe dreams that explain my lack of focus or logical purpose. Because once you turn yourself an artist, you have to know to drawn lots of things and earning many disciplines. And a good presence on social medias too.

In the older days, for make a legal artistic career, one have to go in auditions like everyone else and wait until it's your turn to exposed your stuffs to experts. Since Internet came that easier, this is a "job" that have lose all its focus and reason to exists, on a time that been an self-proclaimed artist can means be a narcissic a**hole or be a juvenile hooligan who just want to have fun. Think to Justin Bieber at a very poorer case of that Canadian culture is now-on a society problem.

Unfortunately, self-proclaimed artists are not just on the Internet, but Influencers or tourists who have anything interesting to do, but made graffitis to zones that are protected by their local eco-systems, wrecking thousand of dollars in preservation of these rich worldwide wonders. The simple "respect" word seems to not work to these spoiled-brats artists who only make their Tiktok followers crazy.

And there is the cause with money. In a so Inflation-ish time, anyone who think make a serious career on arts without doing anything in payments are pointless. This is why commissions on the Internet exists, but unfortunately, too many artists are more busy with owning followers and money than actually express themselves on arts.

Almost a week after my DeviantArt's retirement, seems that just drawing don't longer please me much than I would. The magic don't longer operate well anymore. In the older days, I was able to earn money to made a 48-pages to the first Christine story I made all by myself on one pretty hardcover book. I have working very hard to this thing. In 2024, this is just routine and it's not that great. The Next-Gen saga of Christine is definitely over like it was for my spot-gags series since almost a year. This is clear that the world have changed for the worse, and the recognition with artists as well.

Self-proclaimed artists are going to be a dead thing like the way we'll finally get rid of these boring Poetry nights and wannabe singers on Taverns. These two jobs were in endargment for a longtime now. This is what I think about be a cartoonist too. Nobody would made a job based out of nothing thesedays.
