There is much questions than answers of the utility of the movement, the matters of investments and to be able to exists of their incomes.
For many peoples I know, working is the real-life. Retiring means to be in isolation and useless for society. Having a job don't have to be stressful because you've met people, your colleagues, relatives or friends. It gains you experiences and skills that made you proud to work for them. I having quit my older job in late-2021 after 15 years in the same place because the feeling has deteriorated to me in later times. And that my pays were rather murky. Now on another place for two years and at last-- a real pay with my name there that is pretty good and the working hours were lately improved in order to help me to sleep more in the morning due to my medications.
Hell, yeah! Some people says that working is too tough and tenuous!
This is like that fat guy I've cross anywhere in the street, especially if it's for go to work. What he supposed to do in life? Is he actually a taxpayer or someone who took advantage of our area without do his part? Is he's one of these people who do "pretend" to be sick for never found a job by himself? Is he's live on a wealthy mansion and ship all his bucks to tax haven?
I getting some criticism last year when I've mentionned about this person online. This year, he seems to do anything for put me much irritating. My parents have working all their lives for raise their children. Now at seniors, they may make the high-life they would but they weren't that rich or greedy-- they still working and for have the home we've dreaming of, we worked hard for decades to make it done. With a real estate that have caused many homes to be too costly in two years, it's as if owning a property is just a pipe dream for the current youth generation and also people like me who does with such of disability.
About that person, it's as if he made the high-life without ever get to work or make investments for the days he is going to be a senior. Many people of his age dream to travelling and explored the world, but the sad reality is this is also these same people who were growth with the Digital transition by the launch of companies with such vague names that are getting bigger and richer... by catapulated local economies like ours and make fired (No pun intented) lots of people and shutting local/national commerces that pay their part of tax unlike what these GAFAM, Airbnb, Trivago and others usually don't. You know that AI (Artificial Intelligence) also worsen the fate of visual arts and creators all around?
Seeing the FIRE program like an improvement for a better life is like says working is too hard. Back in the '50, there was a mold made in the America that consisted to investing in capitals in order to be more profitable to everyone, and part why some good ideas been made overtime were based of long-term thoughs and sustainability. Over seventy years later, this Post-War model based of savings don't longer work. There is a recession that coming up pretty fast right here. And you see random guys like that fat person who do the high-life and make parties for be free of his obligations. You know that by my tax, it's ME who have to pay for his spoiled-child life?
But in Canada, we have choosed for a longtime the joint effort-- that means any stores owners have to pay tax like everyone, that we pay for a public service even if they ran nothing that sounds from its true mandatory have to be about or that legally-wise, any rear cars have to have a licence plate with the Quebec name in there for be in rules. This is not be in authority, but for avoid to be like him and be a freeloader. Why you think we tent to ban the moped in streets? Is they follow the street codes like everyone or pay a licence plate like cars owners must to have, maybe this ban would never be done. And who cares that these enginees are carbon-free? Already, lots of bikers don't make their stop in traffic signals!
But instead to save your money to any craps from Amazon, Disney+, Netflix or Google, better to pay for our society. Because think it for a few minutes-- Our tax does to repair our dumped streets, our schools, hospitals, help community groups or people who are victim of violence or harassment. This is not meant to made forced charity, but to make it society. Because the weirdos who have made-up the FIRE movement seems to act the same way like those who dream to live in big mansions and be taxes-free but ignoring that all that does with some lesson of investment and responsiblilites all around.
It's only a shame that actor Arthur Q. Bryan (The Elmer Fudd voice) have passed away by the end of the 1950s. He says better about investments to his character-- "Owning all this money does with big wesponsibilites.". He would be a pretty good spokerperson for speaking about own managed finances to students if he weren't dying as earlier. But apparently, that was just a sponsored/Infomercial for the Sloan Foundation, but what a pretty great Infomercial to spot on! (Better than these lame 30-minutes ads we have all watched back in the '90s/00s!)
